Guanacaste

Guanacaste, Costa Rica is famous for its stunning, sun-drenched beaches, volcanic landscapes, and unique tropical dry forests. A portion of Guanacaste is a "Blue Zone", specifically, the Nicoya Peninsula is designated as one of only five original global Blue Zones.

A Blue Zone is a geographic region where populations regularly outlive statistical averages, frequently reaching 90 or 100 years of age in excellent health and often without chronic medications or disabilities. Researchers attribute this remarkable longevity to a shared lifestyle: a wholesome diet built around corn, beans, and squash (the "three sisters"), mineral-rich water, strong family and community bonds, and a deep sense of daily purpose locally known as a "plan de vida".
